Spikeball was originally invented in the USA back in 1989. However, it took many years before the game experienced a boom in Europe as well. In the meantime, the uncomplicated and easy-to-learn recreational and competitive sport enjoys great popularity. The rules are very simple: 2 teams with 2 players each play against each other, the rules are similar to volleyball. Each team has a playing field of 360 degrees around the round net, all kinds of ball touches are allowed. Where each team is allowed 3 ball contacts per attack - but less than 3 touches are also allowed. This results in a fast and agile game in small teams.
